Training & Compliance

Our firm has experience conducting civil rights compliance reviews under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 109 of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH), Affirmative Marketing and Section 3.  These laws and their implementing regulations prohibit discrimination in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.

We provide guidance and consulting services to entitlement jurisdictions, public housing authorities, and other entities that require our services.  Our goal is to help these entities understand and comply with civil rights-related program requirements. We perform internal reviews of fair housing policies and practices of recipients to ensure compliance with civil rights laws.  Our experience investigating civil rights complaints also serves us well in performing internal investigations for our clients. We assess program effectiveness by reviewing fair housing program plans and other internal policies for consistency with program objectives and federal laws.  We will identify any potential violations or problems and recommend the necessary corrective action.

We also provide training on the federal Fair Housing Act (Fair Housing Training) to property management companies, real estate agencies, public housing authorities, entitlement jurisdictions, and others. Contact us to learn how we can assist your company.
